Announcing the 2008 AYFL Contact Football Camp - Skills, Drills, Development and Conditioning

Area youth (ages 7 through 14) will have an opportunity to participate in a contact football camp and be coached by former NFL’ers, NCAA Coaches and our local high school coaching staffs. Scheduled to attend the camp:

Ricky Ervins (Washington Redskins – Super Bowl Running Back)

Earnest Byner (Washington Redskins- Super Bowl Running Back and newly announced Running backs Coach of the Tennesee Titans)

Eddie Mason (Former Linebacker- Washington Redskins)

Darren Perry (Current DB Coach for the Oakland Raiders - former Coach and DB with the Pittsburgh Steelers) Week 1

Keith Goganious (Buffalo Bills- Former Super Bowl Linebacker)

DJ Dozier (Detroit Lions/Minnesota Vikings)

JB Brown (Miami Dolphins)

Clifford Russell (Denver Broncos) Week 2

Andre Collins (Superbowl Champion Washington Redskins LB).  Currently with the NFL Players Association.

Plus local High School staffs:

Stone Bridge Bulldogs:  Head Coach Mickey Thompson (OL/DL) and Assistant Coaches Matt Griffis (QB/DB), Derek Barlow (OL/DL), Mark Bauer (Rec/QB/DB), Jason Treon (DL/RB) and Andy Skinner (TE/LB).  All coaches will attend both camps with the exception of Matt Griffis, who will only be attending the first camp.

Broad Run Spartans:  Head Coach Mike Burnett (OL) and Assistant Coaches Brian Fletcher (Rec/RB) and Alex Mullen (DB) will attend the first camp.  Coaches Burnett and Fletcher will also be at the second camp, and will be joined by Assistant Coaches Adam Fortune (Def/LB) and BJ Miles (RB).

Briar Woods Falcons (2nd Camp Only):  Head Coach Charlie Pierce (OL/DL) and Assistant Coaches Chris Brown (LB/RB), John Tomlinson (QB/WR/DB), Easton McDonald (DB/DE), Davdi Henry (WR/DB), Steve Celio (DL/LB/QB), Anthony McGhee (DB/RB) and Scott Bayles (OL/LB).

AYFL is currently working to bring in several NCAA coaches as well - more details to follow.

Cost

Camp price - $575 per one week session.  Early Bird Registration is $449 per session until 5/15. Registration is on-line at  Sportability.com/ayfl.

Dates

Week 1 June 25- 29 - 8AM to 4PM  (note: 6/29 will be 2PM to 8PM)
Week 2 - July 8-12 – 8AM until 4PM

Location

Camps will be held at the Lansdowne Park Fields. This is a commuter camp - no overnight accommodations are available, and all participants must be picked up from the Lansdowne fields at 4PM each camp day. Safety and First Aid will be present and available during all sessions. There will be scrimmages at the end of each week, and the public is invited to attend these scrimmages.

Lunch, water and Gatorade, camp T-Shirts and Jerseys are included the camp registration fee.  AYFL will provide helmets and shoulder pads for campers for an additional $35 fee. If your child is pre-registered with AYFL for the 2008 season, there will be no additional charge.
