Looking for a spring sport that can have the contact of football? … Or the ball movement of basketball? … Or the back and forth excitement of hockey? …
Try lacrosse! Lacrosse is a uniquely American sport, the fastest growing in Northern Virginia, and a perfect spring compliment to many other athletic activities!
Registration for the spring lacrosse season is currently open. Ashburn Lacrosse is forming teams for players who live within the Broad Run and Stone Bridge HS attendance boundaries; and Dulles South Lacrosse is accepting players who live in the Briar Woods and Freedom HS areas.
Both clubs are competing in the Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League and will field teams for boys and girls ages 6 to 14. Early registration starts on December 1st and will end on January 15th, but will remain open if space remains available.
Evaluations will take place at Old Redskin Park in early February. Practice for the spring season starts in mid-February and the games are played from March thru June. A limited amount of boys lacrosse equipment will be available for rent for a nominal fee, with preference given to players who are new to the sport.
