The 2024 AYFL Cheer Board is dedicated to providing our cheerleaders with new opportunities to perform for the Ashburn community. Including (but not limited to):

• Appearances at High School Homecoming Parades
• Cheering at High School Varsity Football Games
• Halftime Performances at AYFL Fall Tackle Football Games
• Annual AYFL Cheer Showcase

All practices will be held approximately 2 evenings per week at an Ashburn area school with a game on Saturday (starting Saturday, August 24th to  November 16th).

Parents  can expect practices to last 1.5 hours. 

Practices will start no earlier than 4:30PM and end no later than 8:30PM.

Calling all cheer coaches! We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to coach the next generation of cheerleaders!

THe first 15 coaches to sign up for fall 2024 will receive a free gift!

All cheer coaches must:

• Successfully pass a criminal background check
• Complete child safety training through "Protect Youth Sports" (provided by AYFL)
• Complete CPR training (provided by AYFL)
• Be available to volunteer for 5-6 hours per week

This year marks a new era for AYFL Cheer! AYFL Cheer has revamped its sideline cheer program to provide aspiring cheerleaders of all experience levels the opportunity to learn and/or refine cheer technique, cheers, basic tumbling, basic stunting and dance while performing at AYFL tackle football games. 

NEW UNIFORMS, new poms, improved training including stunting and tumbling

Cheer teams will be assigned to one AYFL football team in their respective division for the 2024 Fall season. The AYFL has multiple teams in each division, thus we are unable to provide what team your child will be assigned to until after the AYFL Draft (July 22nd, 2024). Divisions are grade-based:

• D-League (K-2nd grade)
• C-League (3-4th grade)
• B-League (5-6th grade)
• A7-League (7th grade)
• A8-League (8th grade)

Games will take place every Saturday between August 24th and November 16th, 2024 (except for Labor Day weekend). Games will occur at high school stadiums within Loudoun County

Parents will receive the full regular season game schedule (dates/times/locations) via the SportsEngine Team App in mid-August.
