Description

AYFL President

The AYFL President is the leader of the AYFL for the calendar year. As president, the volunteer is responsible for leading AYFL events, addressing parent/coaches concerns, aiding other board positions in completing their responsibilities, enforcing code of conduct, presiding over board meetings, assigning tasks, call meetings, and more.

 

To be elected as AYFL President, the volunteer must hold any other board position for at least two years.

 

Time commitment: Heavy (10+ hours per week)

AYFL Vice President of Operations

The AYFL Vice President (VP) presides over board actions when the president is unable to, unwilling to, or is absent. As VP, volunteers must aid the president in completing their responsibilities, in addition to acting as a liason between board members and coaches, presiding over rules/regulations/and AYFL Bylaws, and more.

 

To be elected as AYFL VP, the volunteer must hold any other board position for at least two years.

 

Time commitment: Heavy (10+ hours per week)

Treasurer

The AYFL Treasurer is responsible for maintaining a clear log of the AYFL's transactions and budget. As Treasurer, the volunteer must address the board at each board meeting to discuss AYFL's state of finances and upcoming expenses, keep a clear account of registration fees/refunds/donations, and provide an annual report to be included in the annual AYFL newsletter.

 

To be elected as AYFL Treasurer, the volunteer must hold aby other board position for at least two years.

 

Time commitment: Moderate to Heavy (5+ hours per week)

Secretary

The AYFL Secretary is responsible for keeping clear records of AYFL plans and meeting minutes. As Secretary, the volunteer must keep detailed notes to summarize AYFL board meetings and add them to the AYFL website, file AYFL taxes, renew AYFL insurance, aid in marketing such as submitting Peachjar/newspaper ads, coordinates AYFL board meetings times/locations, and more.

 

Time commitment: Moderate to Heavy (5+ hours per week)

Director of Fields

The Director of Fields is responsible for obtaining practice and game fields for the upcoming AYFL seasons. As Director of Fields, the volunteer must be aware of County deadlines to request fields, organize practice schedules/locations for teams, and inform AYFL community of any field cancellations due to inclement weather.

 

Time commitment: Moderate (3+ hours per week)

Director of Safety

The Director of Safety is responnsible for ensuring safety protocols are being followed by all AYFL volunteers and players. This includes but is not limited to gathering Proof of Physical forms from AYFL parents and coaches, ensuring trainers are available at each AYFL game day, ensuring AYFL COVID-19 protocols are being followed and coaches are ensuring players are healthy before participating in practices and games. 

 

Time commitment: Light to Moderate (2+ hours per week)

Director of Coaches

The Director of Coaches is responsible for organizing coaches for the upcoming season. This includes but is not limited to ensuring that there are enough head coaches and assistants in each league, networking with parents to recruit coaches, act as liason between coaches and board members, ensure that AYFL coaches are certified by USA Football, and more. 

 

Time commitment: Light to Moderate (2+ hours per week)

Director of Fundraising

Director of Fundraising is responsible for gathering sponsors and donations throughout the calendar year. This includes, but is not limited to, networking with local businesses to gather team and league sponsors, organizing annual AYFL raffle, gathering donations, and more. 

 

Time commitment: Moderate (3+ hours per week)

Director of Cheer

Director of Cheer is responsible for leading the AYFL Cheer program during the Fall Tackle seasons. This includes, but is not limited to, gathering cheer coaches, distributing cheer uniforms and materials, coordinating cheer events such as lemonade stands and community appearances, assigning cheerleaders to teams, and answering any questions by cheer parents. 

 

Time commitment: Heavy (10+ hours per week)

Director of Ultimate Flag

Director of Ultimate Flag is responsible for leading the AYFL Ultimate Flag program. This includes, but is not limited to, organizing Ultimate Flag coaches and volunteers, planning registration opening and closing, assigning players to teams, and recruiting players to participate.

 

Time commitment: Moderate to Heavy (5+ hours per week)

Director of Communications

Director of Communications is responsible for responding to all AYFL mailings and information distributiono. This includes, but is not limited to, sending reminders and event details to AYFL families, addressing all questions by parents, maintaining a CRM to manage interest leads for all AYFL programs.

 

Time commitment: Moderate to Heavy (5+ hours per week)

Director of Social Media

Director of Social Media is responsible for highlighting AYFL players, teams, and programs on all AYFL social media accounts and website. This includes, but is not limited to, distributing AYFL materials through digital marketing sources, posting regularly on AYFL social media accounts, keeping the AYFL website up-to-date with scores and highlights, creating AYFL graphics and flyers to be distributed throughout the year.

 

Time commitment: Moderate to Heavy (5+ hours per week)

Director of Equipment

Director of Equipment is responsible for the maintanence and distribution of all AYFL equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, ordering/maintaing/distributing player equipment, organization equipment distributions, meeting players with equipment issues, distributing coaches' bags and field equipment, setting up fields for evaluations and games, keeping record of equipment distribution/collection, and more.

 

Time commitment: Heavy (10+ hours per week)

LYFA Representative

The AYFL LYFA representative is responsible for connecting the AYFL with the other partnering leagues in the Loudoun Youth Football Association. This includes, but is not limited to, attending all LYFA meetings to discuss AYFL needs/suggestions, maintaining a clear communication between partnering leagues, and ensuring AYFL remains consistent with the agreements of LYFA.

 

Time commitment: Light (1 hour per week)
